The Y'2 x Snake Oil Provisions Horsehide N-1 Rider Jacket in Black is an exclusive collaboration with Y'2 Leather in Japan. The classic N-1 deck jacket inspired silhouette has undergone some uniquely SOP modifications to add rider-friendly design features and to create an edgy, modernized 70s type aesthetic (i.e. think Rocky meets The Deer Hunter but 2022). The lighter mid-weight horsehide used on this jacket has a beautiful aniline finish and extremely supple hand for a comfortable fit right off the rack. With wear, you can expect the leather to further soften and shape to you and develop more texture. Model is 5'10," 175 lbs wearing size 38/ Medium.

Beautiful, authentic western chic

First off, this jacket is beautiful. It is a deep, shiny black. The detail that sold this jacket to me was the western yoke (pointed angle in the back center). It gives this deck jacket a cutting edge over other pieces.
So.
This is my second jacket from Y2.
I have some qualms with the sizing of this.
I am 6’4, but slim. Minimal muscular, lean build. 39 inch chest, 195 lb wet.
I wear an American 40 suit jacket, a size medium t shirt. A size medium vs large leather jacket
Keep in mind, American measurements are TO FIT somebody with a chest measurement of 40. Whereas Japanese measurements typically are a measurement of the entire circumference. I bought a 44 and it fits me like an American large (as it is 22.5 inches from pit to pit, which is the dimension of a Schott NYC vs Freenote Cloth size large).
I would definitely recommend this jacket, however, I would encourage potential buyers to measure twice, buy once.
